We're building up our knowledge of honey production and would like to know what types of containers are most suitable for storage and delivery of honey. Especially in regards to food quality, safety and preservation.
I have read that stainless steel should be used but also noticed plastic containers are used and available on the market.

Can anyone provide some info on this?

Good quality stainless steel is ok, as is glass, but for storage ,most beekeepers use "food-safe" plastic containers - generally bucket with tight fitting lids. In fact if selling in bulk (more than 1 kg) honey is generally packed in plastic containers.

I seem to remember that most honey in Australia is sold in plastic tubs.

Are these bought by you HM and added in price or refund type system?
