Well spotted Luminos! Got Asian and European ones in our frelon(hornet) trap at the moment!

Well ... I think we have a general concensus that it's dead and has bits missing .... now, I think your original query was really 'who killed it ?' .... perhaps we should seek out Inspector Clouseau ?
 
I like our native hornets, such a shame to trap and kill them, they do no harm - only good.

A spot of honey will attract Asians and they can quickly have their heads chopped of - evenings and early mornings are best. Of course by now it's mainly workers that are out and about.
