Hello All
I am a new beekeeper with 2 colonies that I very much hope will get through the winter in good shape to have a good year next year.

I did a beekeeping course with the Duchy College down here in Cornwall at the beginning of the year and am a member of the very friendly and welcoming West Cornwall Beekeepers Association. I then got my first nucleus at the end of June and then a second nuc at the beginning of September.

Looking forward to learning more via this forum :winner1st:

Welcome Glenviewbee. From what I've heard, that course you did is second to none:.) I know a previous attendee got the plate for best in Cornwall basic test results 3? years ago:.)

Also, I agree with Icanhopit.

Good fortune comes to those who keep Black Cornish Bees !

And better fortune and less stings to those who don't!

Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy the banter on the forum and pick up some good pointers.
I did the course at Duchy some years ago, 20 started, 4 finished.........says it all really!

Someone must have scared them all away !

Dutchy has some of the best facilities in the UK... and attracts some of the best lecturers too!

Just found the ignore function on forum, great as you can ignore people with little to offer other than silly quips

Icanhopit, where is the ignore button please?

It is under the USER CP just enter the user you wish to ignore and you will blank them fore ever more!

Useful if you find some forum members comments simply inane !

Personally I will listen /read any comments as any true socialist would... even if I totally disagree with them!

I am always prepared to listen to a well researched and erudite argument, as many on this forum are prepared to present, and power to their elbow as my grandfather would have said.

I enjoy fly fishing and find carp fishing a bit of a bore... but I would never ever pour cold water on those who do enjoy fishing for something totally inedible !
each to their own.. live and let live etc etc!
