Hello John
It could be any number of things.
Like Martin has said you need to give us more background.
Have you looked in to see what's going on?
Has it been treated for Varroa before you brought it home?
Has it been busy and suddenly not or has it always been quiet?

as far as i can see with my limited knowledge both hives look good for winteri am feeding both hives fondent it looks like both hives have kicked the drowns out [ i think they are drowns dead bees on the floor]

So one is bringing in less pollen than than the other but both look good for the winter.
Roll on Spring, then :)

my first hive the one that brings loads of polen in i have just treated for verroa the hive i have had 2 weeks the guy who i bought the hive off said he had just treated it for verro

the bees that bring in most polen are more active and sting most lol the othe coloney seem less active and dont sting me that much [them ones must like me fools lol]

what information do you want to know? as i am a new beekeeper my knowledge is limited

You can tell us your hive type/make, are the bees in nucleus boxes (Nucs a small hive) 5/6 framed boxes, or full sized hives, are they poly or wood, open mesh floors or solid floors, what varroa treatment what feed if any has been given, there's loads to know before you can get the correct answer, do you use lyson feeders for example..:spy:

the active hive is a langstroth aprox 8 frames full i have made a thin super so i would not squash the bees, the non active hive is 10 frames national that as one super on with no frames when i first viewed the non active hive aprox 2 month ago it was not as active as my hive but the ones comming back was carrying polen now the non active national hive the ones comming back dont seem to have any polen on ther legs i am feeding fondant to both hives both wood and have mesh floors the bees in the none active one seem smaller bees, can i treat the hive again for verroa can i overdose ?

I wouldn't bother re-treating but you really need to know what the "treatment" was, Thymol, Acid, (liquid or vapour) or something else?????

Perhaps you should be feeding syrup rather than Fondant + In the long term you will be wanting to standardise your hives too.

My top suggestion would be to join a local group & get a mentor.

thanks for your help i have just done an inspection on the national hive i think i have been conned only the middle 4 frames have any real activity the rest looks like he took all the honey from the brood box i never seen the queen but found some uncapped eggs not a lot of capped polen ,The other hive all 9 frames are full of everthing so a real difference .Is their any way i can save the poor gals by feeding and praying for a indian winter again i am sorry for being a pain its a good job i found this site otherwise i wold have been in ignorant bliss

Uncapped eggs, capped pollen. Either you are taking the Micky or you need help. If it is the latter then please try and find a beekeeper local to you that will help you out.
I want to believe you are genuine, I really do, but .......
