Hi to all,

Am located in the outskirts of Derby, finally achieved my goal of embarking on my journey in beekeeping. Hive and land sourced to start my apiary, am absolutely buzzing (pardon the pun). Looking forward to making your acquaintance. Dave

Location wise. Note my details have changed. We are on final countdown here and the last run north is the 28th Oct.

I am on the borders at the moment and the MOT runs out on my car on the same day as your move lol, why do you need to stop keeping bees though.

There were rumblings over the border about bees coming from down south though a certain person in a position of considerable knowledge told me there are people who move hundreds of colonies North for the heather but lets not let minor facts interfere shall we so.

I sold my bees down here and have made a fresh start in the North. Whether this is a good idea or not I have as yet no idea but I am now wondering if I have inadvertently shot myself in the foot as my hives needed very little varroa treatments and there was a long established wild colony close to my bees. On checking slabs of drone brood, not a mite to be seen. Hmmmmm... so at times I lie awake wondering.

Could you not contact the person you sold your bees too if you fancy starting again and get a NUC or three from him/her, or will your strain have been mixed up by now, good luck in whatever you decide.

Sorry it’s an old post, new member still unsure how to create my own post.
Is there anyone around chesterfield/derbyshire that can help me out with a hive or a nuc please thankyou
