Hi,
I live in Somerset - I've been interested in beekeeping for a long time, but until recently I couldn't find any courses which fit with my working hours, so I couldn't do anything about it!
Then 2 years ago I moved house, last year I completed a beginners course last year, and got to get a little hands-on experience thanks to one of the experienced beekeepers running the course.
I've now managed to find a neighbour who has a lovely big garden (adjoining fields) and who is enthusiastic about having bees there, have joined by local branch and been to some meetings, and I am collecting my first bees (a 6 frame nuc. from Maisemore) in the next few days!
I'm looking forward to getting started, and ever so slightly nervous as well!
