heavy supers

Yesterday I had to put my 4th super on. The bees are doing well but this has made my top super so heavy I can hardly lift it and so high as to be very awkward boardering on dangerous. My bee buddy and I have decided from now on that we will work our hives and shift supers about with 2 of us per super, one each side.

I dont know how we will get on when I need to add more.

I dont want to hire the division extractor till the end of the season (there is no OSR here). Is there a way to remove capped supers/frames and store safely till then?

Is there a difference between a capped frame sitting in a super on the hive and a capped frame sitting in a super in your kitchen/storeroom/wherever? I rather doubt it - provided that you don't let the nasty beasties get at them.

Last year, when I removed supers before I was ready to extract, I simply stored them on a spare hive floor (with the entrance block in) and with a crown board (complete with inverted porter bee escape) on top until I was ready. It worked for me.

Would think once they are capped you can just removed them and store them until you are ready to extract. But someone with more experience will confirm or not confirm this.

ps wish I had the same problem.
