Today is the feast day of St Modomnoc (sometimes confused with saint Dyfnog of Clwyd who shares the same feast day) Patron saint of beekeepers.
Modomnoc was an Irish disciple of St Dewi Sant and became St David's beekeeper, when he returned to Ireland his bees followed him on to the boat so Dewi gave his blessing for him to take the bees with him and thus introduced bees to Ireland.

Her feast day was Tuesday, another patron saint - of bees. she doesn't seem to have done much with bees although a swarm of bees once chased a load of brigands away for her. No hagiographical Life is known to have described her life and miracles. Next week we have another beekeeping patron saint day - St Valentine and back in December we had st Ambrose, patron saint of bees as well, then in August we have st Bernard of clairvaux. Many of these had very little to do with bees, just the occasional contact with them..
St David is sometimes considered a ptron saint of beekeeping as well, due to the strong association his monasteries had with bees, and the importance he held for honey. the honeybee is included in the arms of St David's cathedral (which was established at one of his more important monasteries)
