I have been in love with honey from a young age and have decided after many months of lurking on this forum that i should join in with the fun.

I know my honey but beekeeping is an area that i am quite a newbie and i hope i don't make too many mistakes - so be kind ;)

Welcome Amy

We do things a little differently to you guys over the pond so some things on here may not make much sense. Hope you enjoy browsing the forum.

I echo the welcome, Amy. It is true that there are differences in ways it is done across the world - but finding out about the differences can be illuminating and can help make sense of teh smallest things. I remember asking a beekeeper why the entrance to his hive was towards the top as I hadn't seen that before and he explained they get a lot of snow most winters. The way the UK winter weather is going we may need to copy this idea ere long!
Do take the plunge and get bees - but be warned they are sort of addictive!
Tricia
