Got a call late Tuesday evening from a lady who had a "swarm" in her front garden, told her that I would pop round around 9pm and take a look, well I got there half thnking it would be bumble bees, she directed me to a dense bush and there smack bang in the middle was a rather large cluster of bees indeed.
She was adamant something was to be done asap, so with failing light I spent 40 minutes or so carefully cutting all the surrounding branches until finally using torch light moving the swarm to a nuc.
I left the nuc and next morning just before dawn returned and moved it to a new area to bring it on, I nipped and took a quick look today and they are drawing foundation like troopers (2 frames drawn already) and were bringing in a steady flow of pollen and nectar. Next mission once they have settled is find queen and mark her.
