Listen to and trust your bees for they will teach you, If we mess things up for them they will usually put it right.

Those of us who have been doing it for years still make mistakes and don't know everything!

Dealing with bees is like dealing with 60,000 people with OCD. You can either use what they are going to do anyway to your advantage, or fight it and lose.

be comfy in your suit/gloves/veil.
Its not a competition to see who can use the least PPE, once you are comfy/secure feeling you can relax with your bees.

nothing worse than a nervy fella always checking did one get in. It is funny to watch tho.

:iagree:Most times if you walk away or just sit and think things become clearer.

Some times they don't and then the manure hits the impeller, and you you do what you think is best.

At the end of the day the bees will sort out your c**k ups.

Do not tolerate bad-tempered queens - kill them and replace with good-tempered stock.

Have the number of someone you can call for advice in your phone contacts

Check for disease regularly. Practice good autumn management to see your bees through the winter.

Be prepared to feed at any time - always keep a bag of sugar in the back of the cupboard

The biggest threat to bees is the person standing next to your hive
