Reading the various contributions to this thread I take my hat off to those forum members who offer apiary products for sale, and for those who derive significant income from beekeeping. The appalling ignorance cited concerning TSOs maybe partly explains how rogue traders in various guises evade justice. Maybe we should anticipate a day coming when government requires a bee census [every bee to be enumerated and classified [drone, housebee, forager, queen, robber ..]

I have for years after travelling in Europe thought that many local authority functions such as Trading Standards, Environmental Health really should be brought into a new organisation that either, covers the current Police authority areas, regional or national. I would prefer the Police Authorties areas so it fits with the local crkme commissioners. It would lead to larger teams with larger budgets able to pool resources together more effectovely to target specific areas and having more staff working together also means a larger collective memory / experience based.

I got my idea from countries who have the national police force such as the Carabinieri and then the local civil Police.

.. so any naughty BK selling mis-described honey [as mentioned at the start of this thread] could be the target of a sting operation and then put in the cells
