Update.

I have started the combining operation and the one queen that this released has been taken up.

To the others who have requested I am sorry but there is a delay as the MIL is very poorly in hospital and my better half needs our car to visit in the afternoons which in turn means I am very restricted in what I can do.

Are your queens gone? I have been helping someone who has a queenless hive. We were waiting for a queen to be sent and the guy called me a week ago and said he had changed his mind. We waited 5 weeks for him to get his act together and by that time nobody else had any left. It looks like we will have to unite it with his other hive before its too late but I just found your post about queens and wondered...
