As is normally the case my own stupid fault - weeding (half admiring the bees really) in front of my hives and one of my girls flew into my ear. Sting followed but hurt and swelled up less than normal - my wife says the older I get the more insensitive i become.
It's strange but I am always quite glad to get the first one out of the way - perhaps the only one (unlikely).
The season has now truly started.
