Just collected a swarm 2 hours ago, 12ft up on the tip of a branch!
Very pleased with myself, I was able to reach a branch with the step ladder to pull it closer, broke the branch they were on and carry them down the ladder into the box!
They were about the size of an elongated rugby ball.

great pics and a classic looking swarm, well done. not worthy

Would love to collect one like that:)

well done nerve racking doing the first one

:iagree:

A real buzz - excuse the pun

The guy I collected them from thinks they came from his compost bin, he told me they've been in the bin for 2 years. His wife was happy enough to leave them there as she want bees in the future!

Well done you,
So beautiful. The wonders of nature. Is it a lime tree the swarm is sitting in? Close to its food source then. I wonder where the hive was?

Well done, great pic to. Sorry for the pun but isn’t it a great buzz.:cheers2:

your always on top.

Just checked the the swarm, they are covering 4 frames, drawn 3, small patch of eggs present on 1 frame and spotted HM! Nice big black beauty!
