Linseed doesn't give any honey, bean honey is generally a pleasing golden light brown colour.

I have huge amounts of field bee neraby hives, but I do not see neither bees or bumble bees in flowers. Bees have so much better flowers to forage.

I have seen once bees in field bean. Bumbles had made holes into flower tubes and bees harvested via holes.

I identyfy pollen of bean when bees arrive home.

Field beans are a good crop on this country, if they are close to your hives sit low and watch which way the bees are flying, straight to the beans I bet! Pleasant honey but tends to be mixed with other summer plants if available.

It is better however to stand on bean field and see how many bees you see there on square meter.

If you have beans nearby and they want to work them...... They will. If they don't...... They won't!

I have field beans behind me and the bees are working the beans and the lime trees. I can see 4-5 bees a square meter on the beans.

The honey is clear with a hint of yellow, but im sure its been mixed with the Lime.

It tells that they are really interested about beans.

I have field bean 200 metres from my hives. There are a bee about 10 metre distances. They seem to collect pollen.

When the field of beans next to my hives was in flower I got a sudden rapid influx of nectar, so I just assumed it was beans. I think it may be mixed with other things but I think there must be bean nectar too. It is darker and not a "floral" tasting as my honey from earlier in the year.

Also check for pollen colour, should be a dark grey for Beans. You'll be able to see this just by watching the bees come in. Honey tends to have a bit more caramel flavour than Lime.

Bees also collect nectar from the extra floral nectaries on the leaf stipules and sometimes honeydew if the beans are heavily infested with aphids. Not a guaranteed crop but when you get it the honey is worth having.
