Yes, it typically has a higher water content. May even ferment in capped comb.

I have some purchased Heather honey, only 6 months old that has fermented in the jar. Well before the "use by date".

Take it back and get a refund, as long as the jar has not been opened.

Certainly does, keep this at bay I have found out by storing in fridge, also although fermented makes good honey cake !!
