looks like a kind of weird spitfire/hurricane hybrid as it has a hurricane central radiator housing and what looks like a later spitfire radiator box housing, one on each wing on each wing

and it doesn't look like a spitfire 'bubble' canopy - so Hurricane

Spitfire with Griffon engine?

Yes. The spit was a MK 19, and the pilot was a group captain, who flew spits in WW2. This was taken at RAF Odiham in '64. The Farnborough Air Show was in full swing at the time and Odiham was being used as a "parking lot" for a lot of the A/C taking part in the flying displays. I was "voluntierd" to be a "meet and greet" ground marshal during the show. The pilot of the spit took the photo and told me to "Look suave young man, put your hands in your pocket to p""s of the SWO " Or words to that effect.
