Nice pics John, I will be showing them to my father who is a skilled metal worker, see if I can't get him to knock one up for me, be a lot cheaper than buying new or even 2nd hand on ebay.
I got an old tangential extractor for this year as I have very little to extract but as I'm hoping for better next year I should be ready with something I can sell from, rather than something that comes pre-condemned by the food industry:reddevil:
If I think positive then maybe I'll have enough to sell next year :coolgleamA:

John,

A honey valve would unbalance the lot , even more so than badly stacked/arranged frames!

Simples. Fit two - opposite each other! (Or at least a counter-weight)

I am basically with you regarding the simpicity, though. The revolving cage is the accepted way. I do like your extractor though! Very robust and will take what frames radially? Is the bottom bearing under that plate and sealed? Presumably your floor is flat - or is it dished?

Looks to me as that was 'thrown together' by an engineer! A good job well thought out and executed!

Regards, RAB
