This is only in certain areas and only on old comb that came with the Nuc, new drawm comb laying fine although she has refuced the amount she is laying but that said nothing is flowering at the moment so she might have taken foot off the gas until the flow improves....everything else looks great...

Why on the sides though? View attachment 8830

.
Pic is good and it tells that the queen is not in normal condition. There are too much empty holes insíde capped brood. Queen is not able to put eggs properly into cells.

Bye a new laying queen.

could be a rogue drone laying worker laying eggs away from the current brood area that is not being policed for the DLW's eggs by her half sister workers

It cannot be. First, there are not workers layers so much in queen right hive.
Second, loot at empty holes in brood area.
Even worker layers put egs on the bottom of cell. The queen's abdomen is leeking.

Don't do this more comlex. It is simple, get a new queen.

Thank you ... All makes good sense as the laying pattern was good and had started to become patchy... She is a 2011 queen marked white. I guess I will be needing to get a new queen. Any welsh ones out there?
