Looks like the bees were also wondering if frosts were on the way with such a clear night, however with a warm day it looks like all the drones have been given the boot today. I imagine they are now banished from the hive I believe this is what happens before the colony heads for winter. However the house and barn is full of them today I'd never noticed in previous years but since having a hive it's very noticeable, I imagine it's all normal?

Has anyone else seen a lot today? Is it weather linked or hive linked? Does the trend spread across the country like harvest does being slightly later in the north

Not today, they were kicked out of one of our hives a week or so ago.
Wandering about aimlessly with nothing to do!

Not sure if having the house and barn full of drones is normal, never seen it happen here... or heard of anyone else mention their house and barn was full of drones.

I'm pretty sure in this case that you know what your seeing is drones, but being as it is the beginners section one could never be sure... could it possibly be that something has died in your house or suchlike... and it is blow flies your seeing?

Them Blue bottles sure do look like drones once the tipple of choice has hit the spot..:spy: .

was certainly too early for the drink, 100% drones either that or i don't just have bees in the hive. Just rather odd to be so many, I expected to see a few but not this many. I thought it was supposed to be a known thing that the drones get turfed out?

You got plenty of workers too I hope! The odd drone flying here today, but most thrown out months ago.
