You can guess what I have done.....

I have sprayed 6 of my empty supers with double the recommended strength of Certan, sealed and strapped them up. Then realised that the bottle did not go as far as I thought it would......

So have I ruined them or have they just cost me double what they should in Certan and I now need another bottle?

Just cost yourself double what you should have .. it's a bacillus and harmless to the bees so you can just console yourself that you are very unlikely to get a wax moth problem this year !

Thanks for the reply.... that's what I was thinking but good to check and be reassured.

Use Dipel DF. It is another strain of Bacillus Thuringiensis, but is a lot cheaper because it is marketed to farmers not bee keepers

@ apiarisnt

What strength mixture are you using with the Dipel DF. I've 15 supers to spray. Thanks

Technical details can be downloaded from here: http://www.interfarm.co.uk/ProductGuide/UK/Default.aspx

More useful details here: https://theapiarist.org/tag/dipel/

I follow the advice from The Apiarist (aka Fat Shark) and use 1%, but being even more of a skinflint than the Scottish Fat Shark, I buy mine from Italy via Ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113217184066

500g should last you many years.
