Today I realised that I applied a double dose of varroa treament to one of my hives over the past 2 weeks :hairpull:

The bees seem fine, BIAS, Queen looks well, still busy bringing in the HB pollen, and I've applied the correct dosage today.

I am likely to have done more harm than good to my bees :sorry:

Hard to say, since you haven't specified WHICH varroa treatment you have been applying … !

How long have you been beekeeping?

cor blimey, sounds like a beast of a colony! How do you inspect? lol

Well they only have brood in one-and-a bit boxes at this time of year. I stopped full inspections a while ago and am more focused on the mites this colony has started to drop. Maybe once more to check frames etc. At present my swarm prevention method (it is manifestly still a risk) is to provide adequate space.

Gingerly, probably...

But not for some time, surely as there's little chance of swarming.

Caveat: I know this is not the case in every case.
