Am removing Bumbles from a demolished garage and their new home isn't far away (?mile). Does the 3 mile rule apply? If kept in cool area for a day, shut in, with sugar accessible - will they stay with the nest or go back to the old site?? Or can I just rehouse in new area and release to forage?
Doing this eve so need quick suggestions, please

Appears not to apply.

Removed two in last two weeks under two miles. Bottom of garden,tie nest in bird box to tree, open hole..(I remove them after 8pm to collect most of them incl drones - tree bumbles)

Relocated Ok no going back.

Agree moved a few now with no problems one was moved less than 1/4 mile.
