I will be doing vertical splits this year with division boards (Converted from crown boards ) what height flange/ frame thickness should be the minimum for the queen to get through as I've just bought some from Thornes to convert and they are not very deep.

Sry I have no idea what you mean or are trying to achieve . Is it some kind of swarm control?
If it is look at demaree and snelgrove board.

Google how to make a Snelgrove board. There are very good instructions from Edinburgh beekeeping association with clear photos. I think height of doors is 10 mm. I just made 5 boards today.

They are deep enough, it's enough beespace to walk under a frame, it's enough to get in and out.
