Following on from my thread "what on earth do I do now" I have had a disaster.
The swarm that was left open in the pair of supers has completely gone. But what I have found more alarming was the other swarm that I collected and closed in. I opened the entrance and no bees came out, so I had a look inside to find a load of what appeared to be dead bees. On further inspection with them in the sun, some of the bees are alive.
What has happened to them? Have they been subject to a cold night?
I had a vial of swarm attractant in there from when I was trying to use as a bait hive.
This is so disappointing.
