Just watching my hive entrance and trying to evaluate what is happening.
The hive swarmed a few days ago, I rehived the swarm elsewhere.
In the old hive this morning:
About 50 bees poured out and looked as if they were doing orientation flights, but they came out all together like a swarm.
The queen came out with them flew around a bit went back into the hive and came out several times and went back in, she didn't fly far only about 50 ft.
Is that a mating flight or are they preparing to swarm?
( I destroyed all the queen cells and released a virgin queen a few days ago)
