Demaree Reaction

A reasonably docile hive has become very agitated since I demareed. Is this a common or frequent reaction to the method? Frustration at being thwarted. They didn’t produce Q cells in the top box (yet).

Can only give my own experience from my only Demaree so far and haven’t noticed any difference in behaviour. Bees still calm and normal.
I did mine 23/4, brood box foundation & Q, QX, 3 supers, QX, brood box & brood.
Checked in 4/5 & made a Nuc with 4 frames including 2 Q cells sealed & destroyed a further 7 Q cells from top brood box leaving non in there.
Bees carried on as normal.

Are you sure it’s not because their main forage has dried up?

Ahh! I was so preoccupied and focused on the demaree (novel) process that I failed to consider that factor which is highly probable. Thank you O90 … been some time and delighted you are occasionally helping the ‘floundering’ again.
