off to do a cut out of a colony from a church today.
will post pictures later. ;)

I know it's late in the year, but they'll have a chance, more than if they were poisoned (other option)

Poisoned?
That's not very Christian...

I heard that Village Girl took a sting to the cheek, so she is now Rosy Village Girl?

And there was me thinking they were nicking the lead off the roof!! Should I report it?

And I did not get one sting which is unusual but hay have to go back later and pick them up. Any one know how to remove the clear water stuff from lead.

Wrong cheek it was her ass.

hee hee, all good fun, Simon. and only one sting to the right hand
(village girl got one sting to the arse, though!)

Haha, does sound like fun

So your hand stings, and her arse stings....there's a connection there somewhere

nope, no connection at all, they were different bees!!

Can I ask why they had to be removed as they were well above head height if scaffolding was needed?

the church is undergoing major building renovation / restoration works.
the fascia and soffits are being replaced (rotten and woodworm attack)
so, either remove the bees or destroy them, not much of a choice, Craig.

And all went into the one box?

Looks like a seriously strong (and healthy?) feral colony.

/ and congratulations to the whole crew, naturally.

No probs mate just wondering as to why, and well done for doing it.

a lot of the comb seen in first picture was dry / old
the honey combs went into 2 30lb buckets, the comb with brood / stores went into a 5 frame 14 x 12 nuc box. there wasn't that many bees, to be honest, looks like they late swarmed. although there was probably 2 frame equiv size (14 x 12) of BIAS.
