Hi

Many people will notice when you are on theses forums and someone posts a question ect you do get a lot of people who are genuinely helpful and myself like many other people are appreciative of that but you always got the odd few who think the are wiser than many others and know better, obviously thier is but thiers no need to lord this over people as all they are asking for is a little help and advice, negativity dosnt help.
Anyway I know what I'm asking and know the ups and downs, I'm no expert but getting to the point info starting to sink in lol. I'm in northwest and want to know if thier is anywere local I could get cut comb to put scent on inside of swarm boxes? I've got 2 and have lemon grass and swarm attract stuff but I'd rather just go with natural comb and just scent inside.

Sorry long-winded

Thanks

Darren

Do you have a mentor?
Are you a member of your local BKA?
If either or both then beg an old used empty brood comb.
I wouldn’t source it anywhere else
You say you are above novice. That implies you have hives already? Then you have a source of comb yourself.
On the other hand there may be a forum member close to you who would oblige.

I hope my first four sentences don’t break your rule of knowing the ups and downs. They are merely suggestions

First thing to say, Darren, is that bringing another's comb into your system may also bring disease, and I suggest you use your own stock. After all, you have 35 colonies from which to choose and must have surplus comb due for recycling.

Combs (surely not cut comb) put out in a hive in late spring will have their own scent which scouts will find, so no need for scent attractants. It will be a race to see who gets there first - wax moth or swarm - but not to worry, the scent of wax moth is also a swarm attractant.

negativity
Years ago that was common, but you will have noticed that nowadays constructive advice - nevertheless often robust - is the norm.
