Hi,I'am looking to buy a replacement bee suit and the company I'am looking at offer suits in a variety of colours.Any reason not to have a coloured suit.

People take the p|ss out of my bright orange suit...

Dont have a bright coloured suit if you want to keep the location of your apiary to yourself. A bright yellow or whatever suit in a field will stand out a mile.

I've ordered lilac ones for our teaching apiary on the basis that no one will want to permanently borrow them as they will be too visible and if they do, they will be easier to spot.

Great idea.

Which will work well until you get somebody like my wife who likes the colour so much she buys her own and you end up trying to claim it!

Had thought of something in blue serge with some gold braid etc.

But the current Lady DD has pointed out that the common or garden white suit does have the advantage that you can see the bees on it.

Yellow and black stripes - I'm surprised BBWear don't do one already...

Thats the colour Jolka my senior beekeeper has.............I give the staff free choice..............and she has no issues with it.

I have bright yellow ones for myself (and the olive as spares) and two of the others chose biscuit and apricot. Everyone else has normal olive.

No sign of any difference bees wise.
