soft water is better for melting wax, you get a better, lighter wax colour, the calcium deposits in hard water areas, gives the wax a darker colour, also it does not fur up your heating element in the steamer!

maybe it's because I live in an area with a high concentration of OSR (360 degrees in every direction!), 50ft from my front door, and why If I leave an old hive on a pallet on my drive, a swarm turns up within 7 days!

I have to do, wax melting on cold or wet days, when it's raining!

I measured rainwater from roof. pH was 8.
The reason is ash which comes from chimney.
