Have you seen the bees piling back into their hives, just before an eclipse of the sun.

The bees... "just before" the eclipse is a wind up, a poke
as you are inferring either bee observations of the moon or other even more unlikely causes.

The bee..."as the eclipse begins" is an observation of bees reacting to light changes.

I have often wondered what is the truth of animals foretelling earthquakes and the like. I wouldn't dismiss it completely out of hand.

I think the right term would be "clairsentient" as it's hardly something they "see". That animals have this capacity is beyond doubt. But whether we have the capacity to extract the information from them?? I doubt it.

That is exactly what I think too.

We think we are so so clever.

Animals can sense small earth tremours before an earthquake.. something we appear unable to do...

Not that the earth moves for me very often.............

On a lovely sunny day with blue sky and not a cloud in it I inspected my bees. One hive was in a really bad mood and dive bombed me and stung my suit and gloves and got in front of my veil so I couldn't see properly. They were right stroppy and I inspected with difficulty. As I closed up the hive the sky went black and the rain belted down. They knew it was coming. No way would I have inspected if I (or the BBC Website) had known. The article mentioned in another post seems to think bees know about an hour ahead.

The bees will be able to detect rain several miles away from the polarisation of the light.
