Starting bid of £1100.

very second hand hives, interesting mouseguards to.

Deluded on the costing. Will be surprised if they go for that. Hives look knackered.

Even Tho*ne mouse-guards are fairly cheap. :hairpull:

will be removed by ebay very quickly as livestock anyway.

makes one think about what nuc of bees will be worth in 3 weeks time.

I see the logic.
168 per hive
200 per colony
75 each suit.

But thats "new" prices

First time I've seen pics of hives more knackered looking than mine

At the Ideal Home Show this week a Top Bar hive was for sale for £1,250.

A top price if you ask me. Still, the Highgrove Hen House was just a poultry £3,750.

They were both painted in a baby blue colour so that must explain it.......

What's the expression - a fool and their money.......

It seems a lot of money, probably a couple of hundred too much.

But I think I agree with DerekM. I can see the logic, but I don't think they'll get the price they're asking.

Assuming they survive for the next few weeks and aren't riddled with varroa or nosema, the bees are probably a bargain this year.

Th0rnes' nucs are £240 ex VAT (is there VAT on bees?) in a ply travelling box. Another place in North Hampshire is selling full Nat colonies for £350, in cedar hives.

Some people don't plan ahead, so hives can fetch silly prices at auction in Spring (whenever that is). So maybe £500 for three, even if they're a bit tatty, probably isn't too far of the mark. Suits can be washed.

The stands are firewood - they'd match £5 a bag from the garage ;)

How much do you think the lot is worth I can only see 2 b box I think are weth buying wots a good ofer thanks

A range of sizes.......... £40, clean them up, use what is suitable and stick the rest in singles in an auction or e bay and get your £40 back
