Farmers turn to tech as bees struggle to pollinate

Looks to me like an excuse for all the big intensive arable systems to continue business as usual destroying ecosystems with pesticides rather than moving back to more sustainable methods. Technology is not the saviour in this case- more like the antichrist of ecology.

How sad. Just another example of lazy business practices and maximising profits above all else. In the wild avocados “mass flower”, if thats the right word and get pollinated by a whole range of flying insects, not just bees. Maybe the local pollinators don’t like poly tunnels and the associated mechanical bits and pieces. Does Israel even have a climate like south-central Mexico and Guatemala?

Could end up like china where large groups of poeple are employed to pollenate plants after most insects were killed off after chairman Moa's agriculture policy.
