Brown patches in the middle of a super frame

Hi All

I just took two frames of honey out of my hive (3 supers) they were from the middle super and are full and capped apart from the middle of both on one side which is dark brown and uncapped, is this anything to worry about ?

Sounds like pollen. A picture might help

Mine are the same - pollen. The honey may help with sufferers of Hay Fever.

So nothing to worry about? Did i just take the frames out a little early? its odd though as some of the outer frames didn't have that, these were central in the second super. I guess i don't eat that ?

nothing to worry about, not that odd that they are on centre frames coz that will be most likely above where the brood is, when you extract and filter, most will be caught but i woul not worry about a bit getting through!

A couple of my frames had (or still has) pollen in. Most of it stayed in the frame when I extracted but it won't do any harm if it ends up in the honey.

Most likely pollen.

Take a piece out and cut lengthways. You should notice it's in layers packed on top of each other.

To add - if the pollen frames are not going back onto the hive over winter, the pollen should be scraped off with a spoon - otherwise it will go mouldy.
