Bees bringing in a lovely bright red pollen, anybody any idea what plant it comes off? First nice day we had for a while , loads of bees singing along with Mungo Jerry.

Yoy are ahead of us in Suffolk. Candles just beginning to whiten here.

Candles have been blown off the chestnut trees around here :(

I've been using the Bristol Beekeepers web site pollen guide and it's been pretty reliable so far, but I don't think it would have told me the bright red pollen was from a horse chestnut (unless my pc monitor is playing up!).

Please could someone else have a look and maybe explain what's going on?

Red pollen coming in at my out apiary. Also red propolis. It is in an area with a lot of horse chestnut and the hives get really bunged up with the stuff!!!

I saw a two tone bee yesterday! Yellow and green pollen, looked very nice.....
