And when the wind is blowing the right way, especially if you have a few old tyres to stick on.. lol

Brings back bad memories of when my old man set 500 tyres accidentally alight in our empty silage clamp - angle grinder sparks got in to the old railway sleepers and when he came back out after lunch there was a lot of black smoke! Could see it from ten miles and involved three fire engines. Quite a mess

Thanks for all the tips on bonfires in general....

I have enough leaves in the autumn to fill a shipping container. Giving them to the council isn't an option, I do make compost with some - The rest I burn. I don't have a problem with the smoke upsetting neighbours as there aren't any. I only have the bees to worry about... And my wife hanging clothes outside to dry.

And what's more evocative of autumn than the small of burning leaves... Mmmmm, lovely

The one near Tretower Court. No mobile service, radio wouldn't work, a lane that just eventually went no further, stunning views.
Piece of useless information .... Singer and musician Labi Siffre lives (or lived) in Cwmdu.

Looks interesting, good are for a trip out. Good weather would be a bonus!

A mate of mine got warned by the council for having too many bonfires.

In the autumn I burn leaves. This time of the year there's normally nothing to burn- but the mother in law has just arrived. . . . . .

You'll be in trouble with more than the council if you're caught!
