I am getting excited for the new season :))
THIS is the year that I get it right.......
I have said that a few years now !!

First thing today the front suspension spring on my car broke & shredded the tire, not a great start, so had to take the day off. By lunchtime, in the sun, all 3 hives had bee activity, suddenly the day got better.

I feel your pain cold weather and old coil springs don't go hand in hand,,

I'm not certain of the name but it's some type of heath/Heather shrub thingy :D fair bit of it about in gardens too. Lovely color, bees going mad for it,must be a good thing.

Erica Carnea - probably 'Nathalie' very common mid winter/early spring blooming ... you are right - heather family.

It's beautiful here today loads of bees flying again. Hope you lot over on the mainland are getting some of this fine weather :)

We had a beautiful day Saturday in n.I. ...

Very snowy winter...mild but muzzle and fog today...

Acres of oil seed rape on the opposite side of the river. Hopefully the forecast cold spell will push flowering later into the spring. Later flowering should mean warmer weather and bigger colonies which will surely give the greatest yield ever.
At least that's the plan.........

Bees on the allotment very busy today about 1000hours a few bringing in bright orange pollen by 1400hours loads coming in. No idea where they are finding it as I haven't seen much about near by, my crocuses haven't even flowered yet.

Could be gorse, its in flower alongside the M65 here in Blackburn
