My garden hive has been getting progressively more stroppy over the last few weeks and I was going to requeen this month but at today's inspection they went mental,my wife was stung fifty yards away as well as three of my dogs.
Anybody want them? I want them gone this evening or I'm going to spray them with insecticide tonight.
A more experienced beek might make use of them, they have almost finished their third super but I've had enough.
They are in a commercial brood with a omf.
Pm me if interested but they must go tonight.
In Southampton by the way.

Never good to hear this.

If you get no takes for goodness sake dinna use insecticide spray they will go ballistic.

The way to do it if you must is to tip in a half pint of petrol from the top.

Hopefully you will get a taker with a OUT APIARY.

I would take them myself in a jiffy but am too far away.

Good luck.

And people tut when I say keeping bees in gardens is dodgy. Uh huh.....

:iagree:
You'll have a major incident on your hands if you use insecticide.
Have you tried ringing your local association? You may not get any immediate takers but someone might offer a location you can move them to.

Yes, surely if you call the swarm line and tell them you have a swarm in a beehive to be taken away, they will be delighted.

Sorry to hear this. Had the same problem myself. Wife stung, moved the hive to a farm. Then I got stung on the credit card (punishment off wife)so beware.

Thanks Steve

Got them in place nicely in the early hours. After carefully driving across the fields, and parking up, I could hear their roar from inside the cab! (they were not happy!)

I popped them on a stand, pulled open the foam and ran for cover. Within a minute or two the bees were covering the hive..

I am going to leave them until the weekend and see what is going on...

Thank you again Steve!

Well done Pete.

Now, have you got a spare queen and a titanium butler cage? :)

Nice one Pete.

Let us know how it goes with them and if you find any reason for their fettle.
