No idea sorry. Only 3 vertical feet so damage minimised to comb..

I would not use a piece of equipment with multiple sharp prongs.. too dangerous..(to me)

I see those on Fleabay.

Do you use a pen or brush with that?

Bees 1 - Beekeeper 1

Still can't find the lady in the poly hive although I have BIAS but found and clipped/marked the fast madam from the small swarm using a one-handed queen-catcher thingy and a home made frame stand.

Got no truck with the plastic ones - go for the proper job, the amount of 'damage' it causes will be fixed in minutes by the bees.

Get yourself one of the wooden crown of thorns not the cheap jobbies off Fleabay they are a waste of money.
Uni Posca marker pens are the ones to get to mark your queen. Dab the tip of the pen first to take off the excess then follow JBM's instructions.

I used one of those single-handed thingies with the soft sliding closer and a posca pen.

Worked well after I put a bit of foam in the plunger bit so it better fits my little pinkies.

Also made up a simple frame support with a bit of wood and bent coat hanger so the frame was better supported and I didn't have to lay it down.

She looks lovely with her white crown and clipped wing. :)
