New to the world of bees... have just seen that there is a bee equipment auction near me at Hay on Wye

It describes lots as including several hundred hives, all inspected by RBI. Does this mean they are going to have bees in them? If so, what is expected at these type of events regarding getting the bees home? Are they expected to be moved that day? Or is it likely to be best done one evening once the bees are all returned to home?

thats really useful thanks

now as to my original question. The hives with bees in, do they normally expect immediate relocation, or do you wait for the absent bees to return?

You'd expect to pick them up after the auction has finished and as close to the end of the day as possible

Hi Martyn, I've a feeling that CG & Peter G , in prarticular ex LBI, may know something about this, ask them if it's worth the trip; not for "permission" but they may know the keepers stock.
Although it does clash with the last practical @ B's, have you asked any of the clan about attending?

Anyways see you soon Russ.

yes I emailed them all, i'm going to be disappointed to miss bridget's but the auction sounds really interesting
