I'm sharing this because I love designing gardens as much as beekeeping.

This is the garden of Thyme it has a clock face incorporated in one of the cycles with different varieties of Thyme .
Cheers mark

A few spelling mistakes!
Not one of my strong points!

How do you find the thyme!

Chons da

I was waiting for someone to come out with that one.
Easy I look at the clock in the picture ground hog it's always 5 to two , at least it's always smiling...

Just a thought, do you have flowering herbs available for the bees as well ? I have read, god knows where, that herbs around the beehive may have beneficial effects.

I've heard the same thyme has thymol in as does marjarom , I'm sure if they take in pollen from these sources it's got to be of benefit or even walking in over these herbs would possibly be beneficial. I've no true data to back this up .
There's lots of beekeepers using thymolatied syrup so go figure.
I've lots of herbs planted in and around the garden but I've only seen my bee's working marjarom and lavender.

And a wee bit more ...

Come on Curly... we need more pics!

We have planted Thyme, Oregano, Marjoram, lavender, basil, rosemary and mint around the top pond.... the aroma in the evening after a splash of midsummer rain is incredible... and the bees love it!

Any recommendations for herbs for bees and cooking appreciated!

Great work!

Have you tried making a "rammed earth wall"???

Built one for our "vinery" and placed shillet/granite/slate block inside the shuttering before infilling with the lime cement and earth filling... looks brilliant now it has aged!

Large grape vines inside produces well ( left by previous owner so 25 year old) surprised they survived as the old building had collapsed!
Benefits from the steam wax melter and the cassette incubator for a bit extra heat!!!

Fairy pee rain at the moment.... only about 14 days behind with my beekeeping!!

A few years ago we made a cob walled garden in the middle there was a under ground maze made of big water pipe and joined it together with sand bags full of concrete you could crawl through the tunnels and get lost in the dark ... This was made for an out door education centre for disabled children .. and had lights set up at the dead ends .
It was a joy to the heart seeing the children laughing and getting lost inside..

I've no qualifications in garden design but have a passion for hard landscaping designs and planting plans.

Don't they call stone wall with earth encorperated In a hedge in Cornwall?

They do indeed and when you hit one it don't give way!

Fos gweras would mean an earth and stone wall, usually disguised with a covering of plants and even mature trees...

Fos growynek... would be a granite wall... slightly harder!

All part of our landscape!

( Good luck)
