Thank you for all the replys. It was definitely a bee as i saw it crawling along the carpet afterwards. Poor wee thing, it looked like a young bee too. I am fine now and will just have to be careful. Perhaps it was because the sting was really squashed into my skin when I stood up. Hopefully its a one off. Think I might use the excuse of having a shot of vodka before opening the hive though .... just in case.

Definitely AFTER the apiary visit :svengo: smell of alcohol plus attendant clumsiness won't bode well for your beekeeping :biggrinjester::biggrinjester:
