Hi Members.

Does LAB's mean anything to anyone? It's to do with bee anatomy and biology.

Come on come on !!!

I will tell you then.
LAB stands for Lactic Acid Bacteria and these are found in the bees honey sack or honey crop. and these bacterias become mixed with the honey taken before flight for foraging or mixed in with any nectar collected prior to the bee collecting pollen.
The forager will collect pollen in the usual manner and add either nectar or honey from the crop to ensure the pollen sticks together on her hind leg.
So how does the bacterias work?
Firstly they infuse into the pollen and inhibit pollen tube germination and also lowers the pH in the pollen , therefore allowing long term storage of pollen grains from becoming moldy.

Told you its a piece of useless information.:iamwithstupid:
