We need a nationwide strategy

Charge chinless upper-class tweed-wearers £1000 per insect to shoot them. If it works, all that extra food will help eliminate a significant problem for society. And given that the hornets can fight back, if it doesn't work, it will help eliminate a significant problem for society :D

Roast till crispy, break off the head and wings and chomp on the the thorax ... if they are anything like grasshoppers, locusts or cockroaches they are a bit nutty in flavour - you need a drink with them as they are a bit dry - personal experience - don't ask !
I ate loads of bugs while living in Thailand. It was a bit like having a bowl of nuts with a beer

I note that a defensive technique is for predated bees to apply animal excrement around the entrance to their residences. This causes me to wonder: 1. will apiaries rush to make wattle-and-daub hives using traditional ingredients or 2. does this imply that that someone is talking a load of bull? Either way, I'm unconvinced that careless muck spreading around/onto hives is going to prove popular.
