Ouch! Noticed this book on eBay, starting price £2000.00 !

Colin G Butler - Selected Papers on Bees from 1933 to 1970.

Anyone know the significance of the papers thus as to why it may have such a hefty price tag?

Not interesting in purchasing the book just curious.

It's probably more frequently seen on Amazon but there are some curiously high prices out there. They are rarely expecting any sale at that price - in practice quite the opposite, they don't want a sale. Some are dealers with shops, or attending fairs and have sold the item elsewhere or there could be a mistake and a listing is repeated for instance. Various feedback scores are based on not ending sales prematurely. Changing the price before any bids is possible so to avoid a cancelled sale counting against a seller making the starting price of an item unrealistically high and waiting for it to expire is one way out.
