aggressive inspection - how to get it back together?

OK, here is the full situation. from the bottom of the hive up. Floor, entrance, super, BB,QE,BB, entrance, super. I know, it's a bit wierd but it's a long story involving 2 swarms. One settled well, one went in, came back out, went in, swarmed again into a tree. Came back to hive, beareded for...

aggressive inspection - how to get it back together?

spraying the suit would have been a good idea. I have some scent masking spray that you use when trying to get a ewe to adopt an orphan lamb. Next time maybe

aggressive inspection - how to get it back together?

phew, done. Had access to hay so lit two small piles right by the hive, masses of smoke. Left it a couple of minutes, all bees went inside. Dashed in and out in less than 30 seconds. They started to attack me but I beat a hasty retreat. Now what do I do about inspecting them at a later date?

aggressive inspection - how to get it back together?

Thanks folks, Just got back from a run to clear my head. Damn bees. Seem to be nothing but trouble. Going to shower and then go out there with layers etc. Don't have time to wash and dry suit so just going to go for it. In and out as quick as I can. Ignoring the bees. Then whisky I'll let you...

aggressive inspection - how to get it back together?

Hi bee peeps. went in for an inspection today, it's been a while since I've been in there. Bees were getting increasingly agitated, it is a bit muggy here today. I should have known better and put it back together. I pressed on, and then the stinging started. Very aggressive. I came away and...

yesterday's swarm out of hive and clustered on front

Just to update you. I set up another hive today in the hope of enticing the bees in. It smelt good of bees/wax etc as had a lot of drawn out frames. They investigated it but have not moved in. Still bearded all over the front of the first hive which I cracked the roof of in case the queen was in...

yesterday's swarm out of hive and clustered on front

OK, so tried QE at bottome, dumped bees into empty super, added brood box then lid. Walked away and 10 minutes later all bees left the hive and finally bearded across the front, they spent the night there and are still there this morning! Now what? Perhaps the Q is not in the hive

yesterday's swarm out of hive and clustered on front

OK, thanks for advice. I 'dumped' as gently as I could, believe me. I don't have another colony to take a frame of brood from. I'll see if I can get hold of anyone. If not then I'm going to put a QE then an empty super and then the brood box. Place gently, the bees from the hive stand into the...

yesterday's swarm out of hive and clustered on front

Hi folks, collected a swarm yesterday, dumped them on a sheet sloping up to the hive entrance and left them for a while, they didn't go in alone. So I put an empty super on top and dropped them into this, lid on, sorted. Stayed over night. This morning I wanted to take the empty super off as the...

You won't believe it. Had the bee inspector today who confirmed sac brood in my only colony. No queen, unviable, destroy! Guess what, just headed outside and right there in the tree is a swarm. Grabbed a spare hive, cut off some tree, queen excluder top and bottom. Ees are going in. Here's...

is this sacbrood? what should I do?

HI folks, went away for a few weeks, all was good before I left. Came back and not had immediate opportunity to visit the hive. When I looked in yesterday I was shocked to see lots of dead larve. No sign of a queen or any small eggs. Having done some research I think it could be sacbrood. Please...
