    I don't think it matters BUT good drawn brood comb is not easily come by and a swarm is the best way of getting good drawn worker comb. Why waste the opportunity IF the bees really are in swarming mode but feed them if there is not a steady flow.

    Do not tap hives during winter

    Leave them alone and they'll come home and if they don't better without them. Assuming that they were properly put to bed but it's a bit too late now to do anything about that.
