    tbhi didnt read that bit and took two samples from the mixed honey from 20 supers from two hives from the same site ...probably why i got 37 diff types of pollen ... eek ! will do it properly this year honest !

    I'm down in Sutton with access to Banstead Common and the lavender fields near Carshalton Beeches ... ended up with 37 different types of pollen in the analysis from last year. Had a bit of a gap after the dry but lucky with the mix of forage here

    So I did a demaree about 3 weeks on 3 hives but sadly one of my biggest double brood hive is now queenless ....no eggs and no signs .... hive still full of bees as the brood in the top box emerged and doing the nectar/pollen collection thing .. Probably me being cack handed :-( My actions...

    yeah sorry I should have been clear ... i normally run double brood so would just be putting the top bb back as the top of a double brood box and stick the supers that were doing the seperating back in their normal position above.

    unwinding a demarree how quickly do people do that .. I know JBM talked about running a rolling demarree for a few weeks ( i think I tried it last year for about a month) but could after a fortnight could you put the hive back into its normal configuration ?

    first time in 4 years but seen magpies down near the hive and so hope they are just picking off dead bees and not causing a problem. might try and get a camera down there to monitor whats going on
